Project R.E.S.E.T

Immersia Escape Games

608 Bd du Curé-Boivin, Boisbriand, QC J7G 2A7, Canada

Date we played: July 9, 2025

Booking size 2 to 7 (we recommend 4 to 5)

Game time: 60 Minutes (This game is offered in French or English)

Objective:

Welcome to 2035, where virtual crime is real — and widespread. As convicted “metacriminals,” your team has been chosen for Project R.E.S.E.T., a risky government experiment that could give you a second chance… if you can show your team has learned from your digital wrongdoings. If you can prove that you have “reset” your criminal ways. Your freedom depends on it — no pressure.

Difficulty: Intermediate

We had a great time playing Project R.E.S.E.T. at Immersia’s Boisbriand location and we highly recommend it.

This is a tech-forward room where everything worked smoothly during our playthrough. True to its name, Project R.E.S.E.T. is built around the idea of personal transformation — testing whether metacriminals like you can learn, adapt, and ultimately earn redemption. Without giving too much away, the game borrows smartly from video game logic, rewarding progress, persistence, and growth. It’s a riskier concept than most escape rooms attempt — and yet Immersia pulls it off with style. The structure invites your team to stay fully engaged and think critically about your choices, all while keeping the experience fun and fast-paced..

The game begins with a strong setup: it's the year 2035, and your team has been convicted of crimes committed in the virtual world. You've now been selected for Project R.E.S.E.T. — an experimental rehabilitation initiative designed to evaluate whether metacriminals like you can learn from your mistakes and earn a second chance at freedom.

Each team receives a tablet that plays a key role in both gameplay and immersion. First, it tracks every code and puzzle you've already solved — a thoughtful design choice that keeps the momentum going and prevents tedious backtracking. Second, as you unlock achievements, the tablet reveals additional content — sometimes essential — for solving puzzles. The tablet will also serve as an innovative hint system if needed.

The set is well-lit, clean, and fun to explore. It helps drive the narrative and has an appropriate futuristic vibe. Immersia has built a set that delivers a wow — what just happened moment?!

The puzzles generally flow in a linear progress – but there are non-linear elements.  There is a wide variety of puzzles requiring observation, interaction with the environment, and teamwork. Many puzzles incorporate content from the tablet and involve direct interaction with an AI “rehabilitation officer” (played by a live actor). This character both guides and responds to you — and how you respond in turn can make a difference.

I know some players avoid actor-driven rooms as a matter of personal preference — and I totally get it. But if that’s you, I’d still encourage you to give Project R.E.S.E.T. a try. While the actor has a defined role, their presence is friendly and non-threatening. Stepping slightly outside your comfort zone here just might lead to a more rewarding and fun experience.

For tips on escape rooms with actors - check out our article here.

Expect a wide variety of puzzle types, including some that engage multiple senses. One section involves crawling, so at least one team member should be comfortable with light physical activity. While I usually wince when escape rooms lean heavily on video game themes, this one felt more like a love letter to classic gaming than an attempt to gamify the room. It struck a great balance between storytelling, tech, and tactile puzzles.  And the video game elements were more of a shout-out to the classics than a task requiring keen gaming skills.

The intro video is polished and helps establish the stakes. It clearly lays out the scenario: a chance at redemption through a virtual rehabilitation simulation — and whether you succeed depends on how well you demonstrate personal growth and problem-solving under pressure. Project R.E.S.E.T has a very strong and clear story in which the puzzles feel organic as you are literally being tested. It is rare that an escape room has an effective and organic story throughline where the puzzles and game flow drive the narrtive like Project R.E.S.E.T.

The game can be booked for teams of 2 to 7 players. While it's certainly playable with just 2 or 3 experienced, we think a group of 4 or 5 will be better able to engage with the story and amplify the fun. We’d rate the difficulty as intermediate, though at least one or two puzzles have layers that aren’t immediately obvious. There’s enough content and physical space for a group of 4 or 5 to play comfortably without crowding which drives our recommendation but the room can be tackled by experienced smaller groups who enjoy a challenge.

Project R.E.S.E.T has received some worldwide recognition. It came in as the 111th top escape room in the world in 2024 on the TERPECA list…after finishing in the top 100 the year before.

Everyone we met at Immersia Escape Games was pleasant and a joy to be around. There is plenty of available free parking - always a plus for us!

Our team of four stayed fully engaged from start to finish. If you're open to a futuristic concept with innovative mechanics and a narrative that plays out in real time, Project R.E.S.E.T. offers a satisfying experience that feels both fresh and thoughtful. If you play Project R.E.S.E.T please let them know you saw a Fun Factor Escape Room review – also please drop us a note and let us know your thoughts.

While at this location we also played Grand Immersia Hotel – which we also highy recommend and The Saluten Medicina Institute which we also recommend.  The later has horror theme elements.  We will post reviews of these in due time.

Until then – Have Fun!!

Have Fun!
