Our Experience

Escape Plan’s Pushed for Time delivers a clever, puzzle-forward take on time travel with the handmade flair and witty storytelling this London company is known for. We had a great time playing and happily recommend it, awarding it a Fun Factor of 7. That rating reflects the variety and quality of the puzzles, the bespoke set pieces (built in-house), and a consistent narrative that is carried through by the gameplay itself.

As always, you won’t find any spoilers in a Fun Factor Escape Room Review. Here’s what the company says about the premise:

“Pushed for Time is an Escape Room Adventure that starts at the offices of Riditure & Co. — the world’s first and only Time Travel Agency. You’ve been recruited to trace the disappearance of their engineers. Stuffed in the walls of an Art Deco elevator, you find blueprints not seen since 1926. As you investigate, you realise that the only way forwards is back!”

Set and Story

Once you step into Riditure & Co., you’re firmly within Escape Plan’s signature world-building. The set design cleverly shifts to represent different eras, giving each space its own personality while maintaining narrative continuity. Decor is detailed but purposeful — there aren’t an abundance of red herrings, and the visual clues that do appear support the story rather than distract from it. Fans of Battle for Britain (another Escape Plan escape room) will recognize the company’s knack for creating rooms that feel like authentic places in time.

Puzzles and Flow

This is a puzzle-driven experience through and through. The challenges are varied — some logic-based, others hands-on — and several require a bit of lateral or associative thinking. The puzzle techniques were diverse overall, with a nice mix of advanced and intermediate entry points that balance the pacing. There was loads of tactile manipulation of the props and the set — something we really enjoyed! One puzzle incorporated a repetitive element that slightly slowed our momentum, though the underlying idea was still clever and well executed.

The puzzle flow is logical and satisfying. There is not one set path you necessarily need to take - we followed our host’s recommendation, and that felt right. We especially appreciated how the narrative advanced through player actions rather than external narration.

When one prop didn’t behave as expected, our game master handled it elegantly, keeping us engaged and our frustration to a minimum. Escape Plan’s customer service is attentive, friendly, and player-oriented.

Team and Accessibility

The game can be booked for two to six players; we recommend three or four. Several spaces benefit from multiple sets of eyes, though a smaller group will find plenty to keep busy, but duos will be literally “pushed for time” - and there will be a time or two for one player to take the lead. Expect some crouching and stairs, but nothing strenuous. This is primarily a mental challenge, with light physical movement that adds to the realism rather than serving as an obstacle.

Getting There

Like most London venues, Escape Plan is easiest to reach via public transport. It’s located inside Rich Mix and shares a lobby with another venue — signage and check-in instructions were clear, and staff were ready for us right on time. Parking in this area can be limited, so if you’re driving, allow extra time to find a spot. Check your confirmation for the latest information on finding them.

Final Thoughts

We recommend Pushed for Time for players who enjoy puzzle-dense games with clever design logic and handcrafted sets. It’s a room that rewards observation, communication, and curiosity — hallmarks of Escape Plan’s design philosophy.

Battle for Britain continues to be one of our all-time favorite escape rooms. We’re looking forward to sharing our reviews recommending Roll Out the Barrel and Battle for Britain in due course— and if you play Pushed for Time, please let Escape Plan know you heard about it from Fun Factor Escape Room Reviews and tell us what you think!
