Horror Theme: No – It is a witch’s house - there are some spooky elements.
Difficulty: Intermediate
We had fun playing Witch House at Black Cats Number One Escape Room in Las Vegas and gave it a Fun Factor of 7. That rating reflects the variety of puzzles, creative use of props, loads of tactile manipulation of props, and an engaging, detailed set that captures the eerie atmosphere of the witch’s lair.
The premise is simple but effective: you’ve wandered into a witch’s home, and you’ll need to puzzle your way out before she traps your soul. The set is richly themed, with plenty of details to explore—some decorative, others crucial to solving later puzzles. We found that taking a few minutes at the start to absorb the environment paid off later as new areas and interactions opened up.
Puzzles cover a broad mix of solving techniques, from pattern recognition and observation to hands-on manipulation of the set and props—some in ways that surprised us. The hint system is integrated into the story, maintaining immersion while still providing just the right amount of help when needed.
Team size tip: While the game allows 2–8 players, we found 3 to 5 to be the sweet spot—large enough to divide tasks but small enough for everyone to stay engaged. With multiple puzzles unfolding at once. This room is playable by experienced duos but three players or more might be ideal for combing through the room’s many hidden – and “in plain sight” details.
Staff and Location
All of the staff we met at Black Cats Number One were friendly, enthusiastic, and clearly love what they do. The venue is in a small plaza with convenient parking, nearby restaurants, and even a local casino. The lobby itself continues the immersive atmosphere—it feels like part of the adventure rather than a waiting area.
If you’re in the Las Vegas area and want a solid, puzzle-forward escape room with a touch of Halloween spirit, Witch House is definitely worth checking out. They have several other rooms at this location – you can find our review recommending The Cabin & The Shed here.
If you do play, let them know you saw it on Fun Factor Escape Room Reviews, and drop us a note to tell us what you thought—but most of all, have fun!
